Now, we are done with Halloween and are on to the next awesome holiday, Thanksgiving. A day filled with lots of preparation of cleaning, cooking, baking, and having our homes filled to the gills with our extended family. So, we have 5 recipes for your Thanksgiving meal that creatively feature coffee.     Smoked Turkey and a Coffee Glaze. This one is incredibly good. Get yourself a grill, a lid for that grill, hickory chips (I prefer hickory but you can use other wood if you like). You will smoke the turkey for 3 hours if the turkey is 11 pounds. Prior to smoking, cover the turkey in 1 cup of apple vinegar, ½ cup of French roast ground coffee, an onion, 12 thyme sprigs, salt, pepper, 2 cups of brown sugar, and 2 gallons of water. Delicious mahogany chicken. Some Thanksgiving dinner tables feature chicken in addition to or in substitution of the turkey. This is a longer recipe to make than the previous one but still worth it (about 9 hours). Make the marinade for overnight—3/4 cup of ground coffee (if you use K-Cup coffee, then you just peel off the lids of a couple), 3 tablespoons of Dijon, 1 tablespoon of honey, the chicken, 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 garlic clove, salt, pepper, and ¾ cup of water. Sausage gravy. The best of all gravies. 1 pound of sausage, 3 tablespoons of flour, 1 cup of water, ¼ cup of brewed single cup coffee, salt, and pepper. Walnut pie with coffee. This awesome pie is a nice alternative to pecan pie. It is a delicious caramel coffee filled pie that will leave your guests begging for the recipe. It just features a nice ½ cup of strong coffee. Pumpkin spice latte bars. It might not be October anymore but pumpkins are still a huge deal in November. What you will need are: ¼ cup of double strength coffee, 1 box of cake mix, 1 can of pumpkin puree, and an egg. For the topping, you will need ½ cup of sugar, an egg, ¼ cup of strong coffee, cinnamon spice oatmeal, and walnuts.     Have a delicious coffee filled Thanksgiving without anyone being the wiser!
