ground beef – 1 pound
One pound smoked sausage, Sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
1 chopped onion
Three stalks celery
chopped garlic – 1 clove
1 medium chopped head cabbage
stewed tomatoes – 1 (14.5 ounce) can
14 and 1/2 fluid ounces of water
uncooked rice – 1 cup
garlic salt as required

Take a large stockpot. On medium high heat, put in smoked sausage, ground beef, celery, garlic and onion, and mix them well. Cook them well until the beef is uniformly brown. Put in tomatoes, cabbage, water and rice in that beef mixture and combine them well. Season the mixture with garlic and salt. Let the whole mixture boil, then decrease the heat and make it low. Cover the pot with a lid and cook it for about 35 to 40 minutes until the rice is cooked. In between, keep on stirring the mixture so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pot.
